Peter with his second cousin and best friend, Gordon Mathew, at Aunt Katie Kelly's house in Tunbridge Wells in 1930. Gordon went into the Fleet Air Arm in 1942 and was killed flying a Barracuda torpedo-bomber on a sortie from HMS Furious against the German battleship 'Tirpitz' on April 3rd, 1944. Peter's twin son, Gordon, is named after him.
