Archie Stainforth spent 23 years from 1924-46 with Hope in Nigeria - first with the Royal West African Frontier Force in Kaduna, then, from 1927, in the Colonial Administration Service, as shown in the map above. Map by Gordon Stainforth, based on notes given to him in 1980 by Hope Stainforth three years before her death.
