Stainforth 19th Century gallery / The Glovers in China, 1900
The Glover family outside the Mission building in Lu-An, Shansi Province, Northern China, taken shortly before their flight to Hankow during the Boxer Rebellion in March 1900. Hedley, aged 5, is perched on the shafts, with his father, Rev A E Glover, standing behind him, and mother Flora and sister Hope, aged 3, seated in the cart.
